TNCC works with local and regional schools as well as educational organizations to provide education on a variety of sustainability topics including food, composting, renewable energy, waste reduction, climate change and more. TNCC works in collaboration with many entities and experts to accomplish educational projects and goals. Sustainability education is needed for teachers, parents and concerned adults to integrate topics into current curriculum - and lifestyles; and to prepare our youth to understand concepts such as a clean energy future, locally grown food and zero waste principals. Our youth, who are our future leaders will inherit our progress and mistakes and will face major decisions to maintain their current lifestyle. Learning where energy and food come from, connects students to the systems required to meet consumer needs and encourages an understanding of why we need to reduce things like energy consumption and waste. TNCC approaches sustainability education through a variety of ways and has served as a spring board for other actions.
