MLK Day Winterization Workshop

In Case You Missed It...

For National Community Service Day in conjunction with Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2012 TNCC organized a Winterization Workshop in Norwood, Colorado. Overall, 7 people participate in the event, including the residents of the home in which the workshop took place. During the event, participants were educated and exposed to the process of the EcoAction initiative, and were able to witness a participant walkthrough in order to observe how simple the suggestions for energy reduction are. Also during the event, participants were able to use an infrared camera and a blower door test to diagnose the major problems that needed to be addressed through winterization. TNCC staff, demonstrated simple winterization techniques including making a WARM Window, caulking and sealing windows, as well as insulating windows with plastic covering.
